August 2020 Edition
Mark your calendars on Sept. 17 and 18 for
AMGA's 2020 Innovation, Quality & Leadership Conference (IQL20)! From 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET, this virtual event will feature a series of conversations exploring the adaptions medical group and health systems have made to survive and thrive in a post-pandemic world.
This year's theme, “Transformation and Innovation Post COVID-19,” will address how healthcare organizations have accelerated their digital health, telehealth, and virtual care capabilities overnight, forcing them to disrupt their practices and use the opportunity created by this crisis to forge a new path forward. Tune in for five keynote presentations across this two-day virtual event.
In addition, a peer-to-peer
breakout session will be featured each Tuesday and Thursday at 2:00 p.m. ET from Sept. 22 to Oct. 29. Check back for more details as the breakout session calendar develops.

Campaign Spotlight
While there are many different treatment options for patients with obesity, a universally accepted care model does not exist. AMGA Foundation aimed to change this through its Obesity Care Model Collaborative (OCMC), a three-year initiative that provided a framework for expanded work on this disease. Through this Collaborative, 10 of the nation's top performing medical groups and health systems came together to share strategies for treating obesity.

Resource of the Month
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the United States, and atherosclerotic disease, including coronary and peripheral artery disease (CAD/PAD), costs the U.S. billions of dollars annually. Last month, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., presented a

that provided an overview of CAD/PAD, reviewed current guidelines for management, and discussed the use of targeted risk assessment tools to identify high-risk patients. Keep an eye out for the webinar recording to learn more about what opportunities exist for improvement in care for CAD/PAD patients and strategies to better identify high-risk CAD/PAD patients.
