National Day of Action
National
Day of Action is our campaign’s annual observance and is held during
the month of November, which is American Diabetes Month®. Through
National Day of Action, we aim to mobilize medical groups and health
systems across the country to take action to improve care for people
living with diabetes.
November 5, 2020
For our fifth and final National Day of Action, we asked campaign participants assemble their diabetes team for a final, celebratory T2G Talk & Taste. This year, we shared the T2G Campaign Highlights Video and encouraged groups to recognize exceptional staff and celebrate their accomplishments throughout the campaign. We are pleased to share that 200 sites participated through in-person and virtual events this year! To learn more about this year’s events, check out the 2020 National Day of Action Wrap Report.
November 7, 2019 [+]
For our fourth annual National Day of Action, we brought back the
concept of the T2G Talk & Taste, asking campaign participants to
assemble their diabetes teams and discuss diabetes care over a
healthy meal. This year, more than 300 healthcare professionals from
32 groups nationwide conducted T2G Talk & Taste events. This year’s
events featured
Q&A videos from T2G
Plank Mentors,
sharing best practices for campaign plank implementation. Leveraging
the T2G Talk & Taste kit, groups discussed applications from the
videos at their own organization and recognized high-performing team
members. For more information about the reach and impact of this
observance, please view our National Day of Action
Wrap Report.
November 8, 2018 [+]
Together 2 Goal® brought our third annual National Day of Action
directly to our participating medical groups and health systems. On
November 8, 2018, we activated more than 200 healthcare
professionals from nearly 30 groups nationwide to assemble
their diabetes teams and conduct T2G Talk & Taste
events. During these events, participants watched a
two-minute T2G video and discussed its application with their teams
over a healthy breakfast or lunch. Leveraging the T2G Talk &
Taste kit, groups brainstormed ways to fine-tune their diabetes
office visits, discussed strategies to empower patients, and
recognized high-performing team members.

observance, please view our National Day of Action
Wrap Report.
November 9, 2017 [+]
On November 9, 2017, Together 2 Goal® hosted our second annual National Day
of Action. On this day, we asked all Together 2 Goal® supporters to take an
“action” to improve care for people with diabetes—and you answered! Participants
took more than 240,000 actions that reached more than 2
million Americans.
Some of the most popular and impactful actions included:
-
Joining the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA)
Facebook Live event, which featured T2G participant INOVA Health System
sharing insights about mental health and diabetes. This video is ADA’s
most-viewed video of 2017.
-
Viewing the “Six Tips to Fine Tune Your Diabetes Office Visits”
video and downloading the accompanying
fact sheet.
-
Watching a
webcast that featured the ADA and T2G participant Oschner Health System
discussing psychosocial care and diabetes.
-
Sharing social media messages of support for those living with diabetes

November 3, 2016 [+]
Our inaugural National Day of Action for diabetes was held on Thursday,
November 3, 2016 and saw 214 participants help reach over
4 million Americans.
Together 2 Goal® led two “actions” that participating AMGA members, non-profit
partners and supporting organizations, corporate collaborators, and the general
public joined:
-
Online
pledge: Organizations and individuals completed our online pledge, publicly
committing to taking at least one “action” on November 3. Participants selected
from our sample “actions”—from getting active to educating employees—and many
brainstormed their own “actions”!
-
Twitter chat: Together 2
Goal® co-hosted a Twitter chat about diabetes with our newest partner, Diabetes
Hands Foundation using the hashtag #T2Gchat. Participants joined to discuss tips
for better managing diabetes and supporting others living with the condition as
well as share resources. One lucky participant won a boxing glove signed by
world champion boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, who was the keynote speaker at our
campaign launch event in March 2016!
